Storm Large

It’s been a few years since Storm Large graced the pages of the old blog.

I just heard she was the Oregon Music Hall of Fame’s 2015 “Artist of the Year”. Well deserved I’m sure.

Storm Large: musician, actor, playwright, author, awesome. She shot to national prominence in 2006 as a finalist on the CBS show Rock Star: Supernova, where despite having been eliminated in the week before the finale, Storm built a fan base that follows her around the world to this day.

Count me among those fans.

First up this beautiful rendition of the Cole Porter classic song live at the Triple Door. This song is the lead track on Storms latest album.

Ahhh! Storm with Le Bonheur performing the classic written by Danny Dill and Marijohn Wilkin and mainly remembered for the Johnny Cash recording. Well now there is competition, this is an awesome version. Love it. Recorded live in Rohnert Park California.
Long Black Veil

Just another side of Storm, here she is with the fabulous Pink Martini in Coutances, France singing one of my all time favorite songs in Spanish. Just a beautiful rendition.

For purity of voice you only have to listen to this beautiful song with Storm once again sitting in with Pink Martini. Still never understood why Pink Martini are not world-famous, but then again they do play all over the world. They are such an entertaining and talented band. Beautiful song, beautiful singer.

Now let’s check out the rockin’ raucous side of Storm, sorry no details of the band. I guess it was at the legendary Sweetwater Music Hall. She certainly commands the stage.
More than a Feeling + Total Eclipse of the Heart

Gonna finish up still on the rockin’ raucous side of Storm, this time live at Joe’s Pub in New York. Storm gives some topical schtick and then a great take on a Queen classic. Great video, it’s just like being there and seriously wanting to slap that guy in front to sit down.
Somebody to love

Make sure to look out for Storms latest album Le Bonheur. Awesome.

American renaissance woman and vocal superstar Storm Large presents her first major release with her new band Le Bonheur, available worldwide on Heinz Records. Le Bonheur (French for “The Happiness”) draws inspiration from a rich and varied musical tradition; Storm shares her vision of a genre-free world, collecting songs born of French theatrical chanson, jazz standard, heavy metal, smokehouse lounge, and a handful of originals, and stitching them all together into her own singular sonic tapestry to create an unrestrained and impassioned exploration of love, desire, and truth.
