Elle Hollis is a very talented 20-year-old singer / songwriter who hails from Nijmegen in the Netherlands. Yet another example of the talent that comes from this beautiful country,
For background here’s a quote from her bio:
Elle Hollis started working with music at a very young age. After performing in professional musicals in the Netherlands as well as Belgium, she started writing her own music and taught herself how to play the piano. With her music she makes a combination of piano and pop with a dreamy sound as a result (comparable to the vibes of Coldplay, Birdy, and Emeli Sandé). On her Youtube channel she created a large fanbase where she posts covers as well as original songs like “One Day”, “Hopeless” and “The Only Thing I Need”. She regularly performs at pop venues as Nieuwe Nor, Bosuil, Volt etc.
So let’s get to the music.
I don’t remember how I found Elle’s music, but this was the first song I heard and I was hooked.
True it is pop, but it is pure soul/pop with a wonderful song from a wonderful singer.
This is her latest release and should be on everybody’s playlist.

This is sung in her native language (maybe, that’s my assumption) and although I don’t understand a word it is a beautiful sound to hear.

Here’s one of Elle’s original compositions, and amazing amount of depth in the song for a songwriter so young. Very simple with just the piano backing, but brilliant none the less.
The Only Thing I Need
Elle writes: New original song written and composed by me!
I wrote this song a long time ago, but I recently got the chance to record in the studio. This is the song with which I competed in the Kunstbende contest. I made it to the regional finals!
Another original song from the terrific talent of Elle Hollis.
I think the future is bright for young Elle, and I look forward to following her future taking over the pop world. It’s a wonderful world when all you need is a computer, a piano and some talent and you have your own recording studio.
For someone so young I am impressed at the body of her work, quite a collection.
Finally today we go back a couple of years when Elle was only 18. Imagine that, and she totally nails this beautiful John Legend (one of my favorites I have to say) song, such a mature delivery. A true sign of an old soul. Just loving this.
All of Me
Decided to use a guitar version for this!
