Beatrix Players

The Beatrix Players are an amazing trio from London who make simply beautiful music, they hail from Stoke, Melbourne & Madrid.

As an intro let me borrow a bit from their official bio.
Beatrix Players are a London-based all-female trio who make florid, adventurous music that operates at the interface between folk, singer-songwriter acoustica, prog and quasi-classical baroque chamber pop. There is a light, translucent quality to the music, and yet when it is not being hushed and reverent, it has the attack and thrust, the surging dynamism, of rock. It can be soft and intimate, but it can also be fiery and intense, epic and immense. There are tempestuous passages in their music that you can imagine being delivered by traditional rock instrumentation but it is the very absence of guitars and drums that means that there is nobody out there quite like Beatrix Players

Beatrix Players are
Amanda Alvarez (cello) from Madrid, with an Australian mother
Jess Kennedy (piano, backing vocals) from Melbourne
Amy Birks (lead and backing vocals) hails from Stoke-on-Trent

They all met in London and created a masterpiece called the Beatrix Players. Yesterday they released a masterpiece, their new album Magnified.

So, shall be listen to some of their wonderful music, you know that’s why you came.

First up the brilliant first track from the album, this is an introverted ethereal awesome piece of music by any standard. So sit back and just let it flow over you. Also enjoy the breathtaking scenery of this beautiful video.

Another awesome live performance, this time the trio is augmented by some friends [?] who between them produce a powerful piece. Every song I hear just blows me away a little bit more, I think maybe Beatrix Players are fast on their way to becoming one of my favorite groups.

I think this one was their first single from the album. A beautifully crafted song, that swirling piano driving the whole piece. Warning if you find clown puppets scary watch/listen with your eyes closed.

Nilüfer Yanya

Nilüfer Yanya is a very talented English singer-songwriter who has made music since she began playing classical piano at age six. After the piano Nilüfer learned cello, then guitar, before beginning singing and songwriting when she entered secondary school.
She was born and raised in London, not sure which part, but that’s good enough. All the best folk hail from London.

One can never start too early I guess, and the talent really shines through on the few songs I have heard so far. I’m predicting this young lady will go far.

OK, so we’re here for the music right. Let’s get to it, you’re gonna enjoy it.

Odd video, but what a beautiful vocal for this cool song. I don’t think she’s really the gangster she is portraying here. All in all a great time was had by one and all.
Small Crimes

Directed by Molly Daniel & Patrick Chamberlain.

Check out Nilüfer Yanya giving her own soul-inflected take on The Pixies’ ‘Hey’, alongside sax accompaniment from Jazzi. An awesome piece.
Hey

You can find this track on a Deek Recordings UK mix of artists titled Extraordinary Renditions.

Another beautiful recording, so much feeling in here, complete with a jazzy feel.
Such a cool groove. Something to just kick back and enjoy. I am totally in love with her voice.

And finally today Nilüfer at her very best, on stage, jamming.

Nilüfer Yanya live and wonderful @ The Old Blue Last – London on Monday 9th May 2016. Rocking out with her cool voice and brilliant guitar picking. Sorry I didn’t catch the title but a great song.

It wasn’t like this when I lived in the area.

Amadeus Electric Quartet

Today we are featuring the hottest band in Europe, they are the Amadeus Electric Quartet , and they hail from Bucharest, Romania.

There is definitely something that attracts me to a group of beautiful, talented women with strings attached. And the Amadeus Electric Quartet certainly fits that bill.

Challenging on the same stage contradictory music styles – Classical, Fusion, Pop, Balkan, Bossa Nova, Jazz – Andreea, Patricia, Naomi and Bianca managed to break patterns in 2000 and become one of the most original bands in Europe. The fresh musical style, the virtuosity and the energy on stage earned the band a fast growing fan base, hundreds of concerts all over the world and 6 albums with original music sold out in the 15 years since the band’s formation.

Amadeus Electric Quartet are:
Andreea Runceanu – violin
Bianca Gavrilescu – violin
Patricia Cimpoiasu – cello
Naomi Anelis – piano

This is their new single “Earth Song” it is their tribute to Mother Nature, their home. This music video was filmed in the beautiful Carpathian Mountains, Ciucas Peak, Lake Saint Ana, Bucegi Mountains, Dobrogea.
Romania is beautiful! As is this piece of music, it certainly captures the beauty of the countryside.
Earth Song

Video directed, filmed and edited by GT Production.
This is an original song written for Amadeus by Xenti Runceanu, our amazing composer and music producer.

Oh my oh my, this is just too beautiful for words. The scenery, the ambiance, the beautiful young ladies and the beautiful music. Just enjoy, there are no more words.

Here they have a full orchestra lurking behind them, out of sight, and they produce a stunning and stirring rendition of one of the great arias from my favorite opera.

Storm a decidedly different version of the Four Seasons by A. Vivaldi performed by the Amadeus Electric String Quartet. You almost hear a touch of AC/DC Thunderstruck This one really rocks.
Storm

Performance at Mitsubishi Attrage launch event in Cairo, Egypt.
We thank Constantin Simion, Serban Tamasanu, Digital Workshop, Alaa El Saadany, Diamond Motors & Mitsubishi Motors for this video!

This is an instrumental cover of the song by Adila Sedraia/Pascal Koeu. A beautiful cover I must say. They don’t give us the name of the city, and it’s not one I recognise. But it looks cool.
Dernière Danse

Instrumental arrangement is written by Xenti Runceanu and it is recorded in his studio.
