Betty Who

Betty Who was born Jessica Anne Newham in Sydney, Australia, where she lived until her mid-teens. Trained since the age of four as a cellist, she moved to the United States in 2007 to attend Interlochen Center for the Arts in Michigan.

She is also self-taught on piano and guitar, and wrote her first songs at age 14, and began performing as a singer-songwriter at age 16.

After high school at Frensham in the Southern Highlands, NSW, Newham attended Berklee College of Music in Boston. During her first semester, she met producer Peter Thomas who was also attending Berklee. Thomas suggested pairing Newham’s songwriting with a more dreamy, anthemic production style. The two began writing new material together and developed Newham’s sound over the next two years.

So now you know all about Betty Who, courtesy Wikipedia, it’s time to hear her music.

This is Betty’s latest single, just the audio on this one. But we will revisit this one.
A great catchy song and wonderfully sung.
Human Touch

Some one laying down some great beats, and Betty Who is in top form here.
I’m guessing that Betty at the very least co-wrote this one, a beautifully crafted pop song.
I Love You Always Forever

This one is from a couple of years back, a great song, but the video should be labelled “Don’t try this at home, or in the car”. Girls just want to have fun.

Check out this great live performance at her American Express UNSTAGED Artists In Residence concert. This gives you a taste of what her live concert must be like, so next time she’s in your area you know what to do.
High Society

See I told you we would revisit this, so we are closing with a live acoustic version of the song we opened with. This is a much softer version with Jarryd James accompanying. And as an added bonus you get the lyrics.
