Broods is a musical duo from Nelson, New Zealand, composed of Georgia Nott on lead vocals, with older brother and multi-instrumentalist Caleb Nott on production and backing vocals.

Their first single “Bridges”, went to No. 8 on the New Zealand single chart. They released their self-titled debut EP, Broods, on 30 January 2014, which was followed by a full-length album, Evergreen, on 22 August 2014. The band has toured with Ellie Goulding, Haim, and Sam Smith
Broods have won five New Zealand Music Awards.
They moved to Los Angeles in April this year and they released their second album, Conscious, on 24 June 2016. And a great album it is, you need it in your collection.

OK, enough background, let’s get to the music.

This is their latest single and video, just dropped Friday.
A great song and a true showcase for the amazing voice of Georgia. The track is from their second album, Conscious, and was co-written by Lorde. Now that’s some pedigree right there. The video is pretty cool, a little story about break ups and youthful angst.

A really cool video here, set in a post apocalyptic dystopian future. A song of hope and yearning for freedom. This was the first single from the album Conscious. I’m assuming it was a monster hit in their homeland. Great song.

This is from their debut album ‘Evergreen’ released in 2014. Based on this track a truly auspicious start. I am totally impressed by Georgia’s voice. And with this full orchestra, complete with strings to the forefront it is absolutely the bees knees. I’m totally spellbound.

Broods open their 2016 North American tour in Kansas City at the Chipotle Cultivate Festival.
They are still on a vast tour of the USA. You can check the dates here on their web site.
This is another great song, and Georgia is quite a performer, great stage presence and quite a mover, and cute with it.

We’ll finish up with a live version of the great first song featured above. This was recorded on 14 July 2016 @ Horncastle Arena, Christchurch, NZ. The crowd was really into it.

OK. I lied. Here’s just one more, from the same concert above. Another beautiful song.
