Sarah Jarosz is an amazingly talented singer / songwriter who hails from New York city. She first appeared on my radar when she was only seventeen, you can find those links at the bottom of this post.
Sarah has recently released her fourth album “Undercurrent”, and what an album it is. Just loving it.
Anyway let’s hear some of that music, and some from earlier times.
“Sarah Jarosz plays through the rain during a performance backstage at the 2016 Old Settler’s Music Festival in Dripping Springs, TX.”
Gotta love that, playing through the rain in Dripping Springs ☺
What a beautiful voice, and a really cool song. Loving it.
This is from her amazing new album “Undercurrent”.
House of Mercy
In search of other tracks of this album, I stumbled on to this live version from the Sinclair in Cambridge, MA. Poignant and beautiful.
Love this, and not because my sister is Jacqueline.
One criticism, why can’t folk hold their phones sideways, it looks so much better on YouTube. Other than that great job with the sound and visual.
Another great performance, with a voice as clear as a bell it is only fitting she should sing this great Bob Dylan song. This was just a couple of days ago at the Sinclair, Cambridge MA.
Ring Them Bells
This final one today is a treat from a couple of years ago. A brilliant version of a great song by Gnarls Barkley, a very different style.
Live from the BGS stage at Bonnaroo 2014, Sarah Jarosz performed her impeccable cover of Gnarls Barkley’s “Crazy,” accompanied by Alex Hargreaves, Nathaniel Smith, members of The Lonesome Trio and guitarist Bryan Sutton.
As always, please ignore the stupid “Content warning” on the old blog. One of these days/months/years it will be removed by Google/Blogger.
Anyhow these were the two features on Sarah back in the day.
